Chocolate Jar, silver, CG Hallberg, 1930s
C.G. Hallberg was a prominent Swedish goldsmith and official jeweler to the Swedish Court, with its flagship store located at Drottninggatan 6 in Stockholm. Renowned for its high-quality silverware and metalwork—pieces that still command strong prices at auction—the company rose to become the largest jeweler in Scandinavia during the early 20th century and one of Sweden’s leading firms. By 1961, it remained the country’s largest jeweler, operating 31 domestic stores and maintaining an extensive international export network. Jean Jahnsson served as president from 1896, and the company merged with GAB in 1961.
